Screenoir is developed by Maximiliano Villa. This policy covers the Screenoir iPhone and iPad app, this website, and support messages.

In the app: your viewing stays on your device. Screenoir does not require an account and does not send us your videos, subtitles, playlist, viewing history or playback preferences. The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK.
1. What Screenoir collects
The Screenoir app does not collect personal data for the developer. We do not operate an account system or a server that receives your viewing activity. The app’s local storage is described below.
If you visit this website or choose to email support, technical website requests or the information in your message are handled separately, as described in sections 4 and 5.
2. Videos, subtitles and local preferences
Screenoir accesses the videos, subtitles and folders you choose through the system Files picker. For a folder import, it scans that folder and its subfolders for supported media and matching subtitle files.
To provide playback and let you return later, Screenoir stores the following on your device:
- Playlist entries, file names, titles, folder labels and system file-access bookmarks.
- Video duration, resume position, date added and last-played date.
- Selected subtitle and audio track names and references to attached subtitle files.
- Sorting, shuffle, repeat and app playback-volume preferences.
This information is used for the app’s features and is not transmitted to the developer. Screenoir uses the VLCKit playback library to decode media locally. We do not configure that library to send viewing information to us or to an analytics service.
Screenoir does not need your camera, microphone, contacts or location for these features. File access is limited by the operating system and the files or folders you select.
3. Apple, file providers and device backups
If you choose a file stored in iCloud Drive or another Files provider, that provider may download it to your device. The provider handles that storage and transfer under its own policy. This is not an upload of your media to the Screenoir developer.
Depending on your device settings, Apple or your chosen backup service may include Screenoir’s local app data in a device backup. App Store downloads and any diagnostic information you choose to share with Apple are also governed by Apple’s policies and settings.
Screenoir does not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or track you across apps or websites.
4. Information you send to support
If you email maximiliano.villa@gmail.com, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any details or attachments you choose to include. We use these only to respond, troubleshoot the issue and manage the support conversation.
Support email is handled through the email providers used by you and the developer, including Gmail. Please avoid sending sensitive information, private media or other people’s personal information. We do not use support messages for advertising or add you to a marketing list.
5. Information handled by this website
This is a static information website. We have not added analytics scripts, advertising pixels, contact forms or marketing cookies. Site images and styles are served from the site rather than from external font or media services.
Our website hosting provider, Namecheap, and any network providers used to deliver the site process technical request information such as your IP address, browser information, requested page and request time to deliver and secure the website. Their operational processing and retention are governed by their service terms and privacy policies. We do not use that information for behavioral advertising.
If you click an email or external link, the destination service handles the information you provide under its own policies. The website’s technical processing is separate from the local-only app.
6. Retention, deletion and your choices
Local app data: playlist information remains on your device until you remove entries, clear the playlist or delete the app. Removing entries also removes their associated resume positions and per-video preferences. App-wide preferences remain until changed or the app’s data is deleted.
To remove all local Screenoir data, use Delete App in iOS Settings. Offload App preserves app data. Original videos and subtitles are separate: manage or delete them in Files or their provider. Device and cloud backups may retain copies until you manage or delete those backups.
You can stop Screenoir’s continued access to a selected item by removing its playlist entry and closing playback. You can also manage the file’s availability through Files or its provider. There is no Screenoir account to delete and no developer-held viewing profile.
Support messages: we retain correspondence as long as needed to handle the request and maintain relevant support records or meet legal obligations. Email us to request access, correction or deletion of information you sent. We will address requests subject to any applicable legal retention requirements.
Website processing: hosting providers manage operational request records. You can contact us with questions about website privacy or to exercise applicable privacy rights. We will help address the request or direct it to the appropriate provider.
7. Children’s privacy
Screenoir does not ask users for an account, age or personal information. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app. If a support message contains a child’s personal information, a parent or guardian can contact us to request its deletion.
8. Changes to this policy
If Screenoir’s data practices change, we will update this policy and its date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before introducing new collection.
9. Contact
